Mapping affective circuits of a Twitter trolling attack against feminist arts-based pedagogy during the COVID-19 global pandemic

We examine a Twitter attack against our phEmaterialist pedagogy during UK-wide COVID-19 lockdown. explore how trolls swarmed together in collective mocking and ridiculing of images colorful Play-doh genital models posted as part Master’s module we teach. The session explored “clitoral validity” feminist pedagogical concept to disrupt phallocentric sexuality education through the modeling vulva clitoris. focus on sub-sample attack, tweets that explicitly refer clitoral validity, vulvas, penises. develop an analytical frame networked affect affective homophily combination with psychoanalytical concepts map circuits misogyny hate. To conclude, use this episode shed light what is at stake for scholars working feminism and/or gender studies using creative, participatory, arts-based methods both trouble reclaim position bad researchers/pedagogues.
